Jan Larsen, a member of the Deer Creek Community for the past 11 years, brings a unique perspective to her school board service. She is familiar with the every day events of school life because she is in the schools, volunteering at all levels, two to three days a week.
Her working knowledge of the day to day school life helps her to make informed decisions at board meetings.

Upon moving to Deer Creek Schools, Mrs. Larsen became very involved in school volunteerism. She has been PTO President of the High School and Middle School. Serving on the Executive PTO for several years helped Mrs. Larsen become very familiar with the parental involvement at Deer Creek. She has also worked on numerous curriculum committees. She has served on a Superintendent interview committee as a patron in 1997 and most recently as President of the Board in the spring of 2004.

Mrs. Larsen also brings 23 years of business experience as Co-founder of American Sentinel Products, an Industrial Supply Company. Her experience of running a highly successful dance studio, Creative Dance Works, also brings knowledge of working with children on an educational basis as well as with parents on a parent-child-teacher and business basis.

Mrs. Larsen is the proud mother of 4 children. Her oldest two children are Deer Creek High School graduates and are attending college. She has two children still attending Deer Creek Schools which keeps her highly involved in all aspects of school life. The children of Deer Creek Schools are very important to me. I want to see them get the very best education possible!
