
David has lived in the Deer Creek District since 1998 and has been active in various school organizations from athletic booster clubs, weekly volunteer in high school media center, substitute and test monitoring. David spent 30 years in the telecommunications industry retiring from Southwestern Bell as Vice President. He also spent several years at President and CEO of Sure-Tel, Inc. He graduated from Shawnee High School, received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and graduated from Penn State’s Executive Management Program. Throughout his career, he has been active in many civic organizations and received various awards such as the Paragon Award for Leadership OKC, Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America, and the Bronze Vail Award from Southwestern Bell. Today his volunteer time is spent with the Executive Services Corp. of Central Oklahoma and various Deer Creek School District activities. Married to Sandy Miller for 43 years, he has two daughters, Kelli Haan, a Deer Creek mother, and Stacey Cannon of Greeley Colorado. David and Sandy have three grandchildren, Jantz Haan, a Deer Creek student of the 2009 Class, Abbey Cannon of Greeley, Colorado, and Bethany Haan, a future Deer Creek Elementary student. |
