Board Election: February 11, 2025
Elections for the Ward #5 Deer Creek School Board of Education seat will be held on February 11, 2025. We have three candidates running for office.
All Deer Creek residents who are registered to vote can vote in this election.
About the Candidates
Chris Adamson
Chris Adamson grew up in Deer Creek and attended school in the district from Kindergarten through 12th grade (1993 Graduate). While a DC student, he participated in football, basketball, band and student council. Upon graduation, he attended Dartmouth College where he played football and majored in history. After a 20-year career as a teacher, coach and administrator at colleges and schools in New England and Los Angeles, he moved his family of 6 back to Oklahoma 6 years ago. He and his wife have 4 children- all of whom attend or graduated from Deer Creek and live on a small "farm" on the west side of the District. Chris is in year 8 of running a non-profit foundation that creates opportunities for student-athletes from around the world, Gridiron Imports Foundation. Since August 2024, he has served on the Deer Creek Board of Education as a replacement for a Board Member who moved out of state. He is excited to serve the district for five more years.
Lisa Antonelli
Lisa Antonelli has been a proud member of the Deer Creek community for 17 years. She and her husband, Andy, are the parents of two sons: A.J., a 2022 Deer Creek High School graduate, and Lucas, who is a sophomore. Lisa is a nonprofit consultant, who crafts fundraising and marketing strategies for clients to engage their communities and cultivate long-term support to fulfill their missions. She is passionate about being involved in Deer Creek and tried to serve at each school her sons attended. She served as a homeroom mom at Prairie Vale, where she worked to ensure teachers felt appreciated and supported. Lisa is an active volunteer with the Deer Creek Cross Country and Track teams and the Booster Club. For the past 5 years, Lisa has contributed her expertise as a consultant for the Deer Creek Schools Foundation, helping to boost awareness and support for the Foundation’s initiatives. She also participates in the Deer Creek Business Association. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, and she brings creativity, strategic thinking, and problem-solving to everything she does.
Marie Sevin
Marie Sevin has her master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. She is in the Coast Guard; and served 12 years of active duty and currently serves in the reserves. She is married and has two kids, an 8th grader and a 4th grader. Her family moved to Oklahoma four and a half years ago and looked for homes in Deer Creek because of the amazing reputation for education. She is running for the Deer Creek school board because she is deeply invested in the quality of education and the overall well-being of our students. She believes in creating a supportive and enriching environment for all children to thrive, and is committed to advocating for policies and programs that will foster academic excellence and personal growth for every student in our district.
