Superintendent's Report*
Dr. Perez provided the board with the following announcements:
- School starts in one month, on August 14! Our district team has been working hard this summer to prepare for another great school year. Once our families are ready to begin thinking about the new year, be sure to check out our social media and online back-to-school guide.
- All of our Pre-K - 4th grade families are invited to the Deer Creek Business Association School Supply Bash on July 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Deer Creek PAAC. This will be a great event for the whole family!
- As a reminder, Oklahoma law requires a complete ban of personal electronic devices during the school day beginning this school year. Please partner with us in preparing your students now for this change. Additional information is available online.
Hiring Updates
The board approved the hiring of all personnel listed on the Personnel Schedule. Lindsey Tennell was hired as a new assistant principal at Deer Creek High School. Mrs. Tennell brings over 21 years of experience in education and 15 years of administrative experience to DCHS, and we are excited to have her join our team!
Board Actions*
- Approved all items on the consent agenda
- Approved updates to board policy JG (Student Discipline)
- Approved easement agreement between The City of Oklahoma City and Spring Creek Elementary for road widening project (Student Transfers) and JECC (Intra-District Transfer)
- Approved 25-26 1st Quarter District Capacity at each grade level for transfer purposes in accordance with Board Policy JECB
