March 10, 2025 Board Highlights

Superintendent's Report*

Dr. Jason Perez highlighted the following achievements and announcements from Deer Creek in the last month:

  • Adrin Stone played the National Anthem on his electric guitar to open this year's wrestling state competition.
  • Our DCHS BPA students had stellar results at their state competition.
  • We had a great turnout at our SCREENAGERS premiere and panel discussion. We will be holding a similar event later this fall.
  • DCMS students shined during their recent performances of Mean Girls, Jr.
  • WWF raised an impressive total of $167,349.55, which resulted from fundraising from DCHS, DCMS and the entire community.
  • DC45 Choir Teacher Sydney Pointer was named our District Teacher of the Year last month.
  • DCHS had three students selected to be Academic All-Staters: Edward Ma, Dhathri Puttheti and Skanda Kabilan Swamy.
  • We want to remind all families to complete the annual enrollment process as soon as possible after it opens on March 26. This helps us keep class sizes small and plan appropriately for next year.

The Board recognized two student groups in March:

  • Deer Creek Middle School Cheer, for winning their national champion title for the second year in a row
  • High School Pom, for their first national championship title in Deer Creek history
