English Learner (EL) Services
The Deer Creek English Learner (EL) program provides language development support for students who are in the process of learning English.Our goal is to ensure students can:
- Develop English proficiency in speaking and listening
- Build reading and writing skills
- Access grade-level academic content
- Achieve academic success alongside peers
We are supported under Title III federal funding and aligned with guidance from the Oklahoma State Department of Education.

Family Information
Parent Rights
Parents and guardians have the right to:
- Accept or decline EL services. Declining EL services does not remove the EL identifier or exempt students from annual proficiency testing, which are required by state and federal law.
- Receive information in a language they understand
- Be informed of English proficiency levels via WIDA test scores and parent-teacher conferences
Translation Services
Deer Creek provides free language support services for families. Interpretation may be either in-person or phone-based, depending on availability. This service must be requested at enrollment.
