Historic Invitation for Deer Creek Students to Participate in 40th Anniversary London New Year Day’s Parade

Deer Creek School District is proud to announce the Deer Creek High School band received a prestigious invitation to participate in the 40th Anniversary of the London New Year’s Day Parade on January 1, 2026. This opportunity marks the first time in the district’s history that band students will represent Deer Creek on a global stage, performing in one of the world's most iconic parades.

On September 26, 2024, Deer Creek will welcome visitors from England for a special ceremony to officially invite the Antler Pride to participate in this parade. Bob Bone, the London’s New Year’s Day Parade and Festival co-founder and chair, will be accompanied by Steve Summers, chair of the London Mayors’ Association, (former Lord Mayor of the City of Westminster), Dean Oblonsky, senior American consultant, and Bill Northen, and Jonathan Whaley, senior directors of international participation, to extend a special invitation to students and band staff.

We only wanted the very best marching bands for our 40th Anniversary event and know that the bandhas a terrific track record and reputation,” said Bone.

The London New Year’s Day Parade is known for its vibrant performances and international participation. Each year, hundreds of thousands of spectators gather, with millions more watching on television, to witness this event that features performers from around the world.

The invitation ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. at the Deer Creek Performing Arts and Athletic Center Auditorium. During this ceremony, parade leaders and district and site officials will speak about this exciting invitation and opportunity for our students.
