Student Behavior Reminders at Deer Creek Football Games

Antler Football Fans,

We are so appreciative of your support of our high school football program. Our varsity, junior varsity, and freshman home games are incredibly well-attended and a great opportunity for us to come together as a community. Your support plays a big role in our success.

Unfortunately, we are continuing to have significant student behavior and safety issues at each home event. Instances of vandalism, fighting, horseplay, and disrespectful behavior are occurring from all grade levels in attendance. Sadly, nearly all incidents involve Deer Creek students.

At each varsity football game, there are no less than ten school administrators on duty along with at least five security officers and support from district administration and staff from the Athletics department. This team works hard to manage student behavior in an effort to create a safe environment for all spectators, but inappropriate behavior continues to increase each week. In an effort to help mitigate these behaviors, the following restrictions will be implemented:

• Students will not be allowed to loiter in restrooms, the food truck area, or in the walkway behind the home bleachers.

• Additional temporary fencing will be installed to better enclose the home side of the stadium.

• Students will not be allowed to use the restroom located at the Multi-Sport building (located on the north side of the concession stand). This is for visitors only.

• All high school students are required to wear their school IDs around their necks at all times.

As a reminder of some of the procedures and expectations already in place:

• Attendance at a school-sanctioned event is an extension of the school day. As such, expectations for student behavior and actions are the same at a football game as they are in the classroom or on the playground.

• Sports equipment brought from home is not allowed (i.e. footballs, frisbees, etc.).

• Students in PK – 8th grade must have a parent in attendance at the game and will not be allowed to enter the gate without an adult.

• All students 5th grade and below must be accompanied by an adult to the restroom, food trucks, and concession stand.

• Any behaviors deemed unsafe, unruly, or unsportsmanlike by Deer Creek staff may result in removal from the event.

• Spectators are prohibited from entering the Multi-Sport, press box, PAAC or press box elevator at any time.

Please help us maintain a safe, orderly, and friendly environment for all spectators.
