Title IX
Our district is committed to the policy that no person shall be unlawfully subjected to discrimination in, excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of any educational program, extracurricular activity, or employment. Deer Creek School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national or ethnic origin, alienage, ancestry, religion or religious creed, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, age, disability, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal or state law. All complaints and inquiries regarding the non-discrimination policies must follow the complaint and/or grievance procedures described in Policy ACA - Civil Rights or Policy ACB – Sexual Harassment. This policy is applicable in all matters concerning staff, events, students, the public, employment, admissions, financial aid, educational programs and services including career tech, facilities access, and individuals, companies, and firms with whom Deer Creek does business. The Board directs the Superintendent of schools to prepare necessary rules, regulations, and procedures to insure that all state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines are followed.
The following statement will be included on District’s website and in all course announcements, bulletins disseminated to all students, materials used for recruiting or describing programs and training, application or enrollment forms, brochures, and catalogs:
“The Deer Creek School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national or ethnic origin, alienage, ancestry, religion or religious creed, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, age, disability, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state or local law.”
When an open forum is created whereby non-curricular groups are allowed to meet on school premises Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups will have equal access.
